追猎者（英文名：Coursers）是精英合成人猎人和特工，被指定为學院执行特定的地面任务。他们在2287年的联邦周围行动。

“追猎者是學院合成人，设计的目的只有一个。他们是猎人，一旦行动失败后一个合成人失踪，一个追猎者就会被派出去。他们很擅长自己的工作。”— 布莱恩·维吉尔

SRB部门的主要工具是追猎者，一种用于执行地表任务的第三代合成人。追猎者捕猎并回收那些逃离学院的合成人。他们高度自给自足，受过战斗、渗透和追踪方面的训练。总而言之，追猎者是无情的。^[1]

追猎者被设计成精英杀人机器，不同于其他合成人型号。根据SRB的命令，该部门分配他们的任务，并通过他们的追猎者芯片(一种隐形传物设备)的中继提供访问地表的机会。SRB主要使用追猎者来检索和重置逃跑的合成人。一旦发现一个逃逸的合成人，追猎者就会使用合成人的召回代码来清除它的记忆并使其失效。一旦完成，合成人就会被带回学院，恢复其神经通路并调节到最初的功能，抹去它在表面的记忆，尽管许多案例涉及到无法弥补的损伤和许多逃跑的合成人的处理。^[2]

All too often, we're unable to repair the damage and are forced to dispose of the unit entirely."
